Saudi Arabia Warns of Strict Penalties for Assisting Border Violators
The Ministry of Interior announced that joint field campaigns arrested 21,134 violators of residency, work, and border security rules in just one week.
From 29/05/1447 AH (Nov. 20, 2025) to 05/06/1447 AH (Nov. 26, 2025), authorities carried out these campaigns across all regions of Saudi Arabia. Recommend: Makkah shuts 1300+ workshops and warehouses after major inspection campaign
The Ministry released the following results:
1. Total Violations Detected
A total of 21,134 violators were arrested, including:
➤ 13,128 residency violators
➤ 4,826 border security violators
➤ 3,180 labor system violators
2. Border Crossing Arrests
Authorities arrested 1,667 people attempting to enter Saudi Arabia illegally. Their nationalities included:
🔘 42% Yemenis
🔘 57% Ethiopians
🔘 1% other nationalities
In addition, 31 people were caught trying to leave the Kingdom illegally.
3. Arrests for Assisting Violators
Authorities arrested 14 people for transporting, sheltering, employing, or helping violators of residency, work, or border security rules. Most Viewed: Saudization of Housing Supervisor jobs
4. Current Cases Under Processing
There are 31,091 expatriates currently undergoing legal procedures, including:
■ 29,538 men
■ 1,553 women
5. Travel and Deportation Procedures
🔹 22,071 violators were referred to their embassies to obtain travel documents.
🔹 5,078 violators were sent to complete their travel bookings.
🔹 11,674 violators were deported.
Severe Penalties for Helping Violators
The Ministry warned that anyone who helps border violators—by bringing them into the Kingdom, transporting them, hiding them, or providing any type of assistance—faces up to 15 years in prison, a fine up to 1 million riyals, and the confiscation of vehicles or housing used in the crime. Public defamation may also be applied.

How to Report Violations
The Ministry urged the public to report any violations:
👉 911 for Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province
👉 999 or 996 for all other regions of the Kingdom
