Demolition Orders Issued for 1,011 Dilapidated Buildings in Jeddah

The Jeddah Mayoralty will begin disconnecting and removing utility services from dilapidated buildings in the Al-Ruwais neighborhood starting Tuesday. This action is part of the first phase of the project, which includes 1,011 buildings.

The General Directorate of Emergency and Crisis Management has completed the notification process, and demolition orders have been officially issued by the Committee for Dilapidated Buildings.

The Committee for Dilapidated Buildings issued the demolition orders after completing all legal and regulatory procedures. Building owners were given the legally required grace period before the work began. Read: Saudi Aramco announces the price of 98-Octane Gasoline

Utility disconnection and service removal will take place in collaboration with relevant government authorities to prepare for the demolition process, which will adhere to the approved execution plan.

This step is part of the Jeddah Mayoralty’s ongoing efforts to improve public safety, protect lives and property, and address the risks caused by unsafe and deteriorating buildings that threaten residents and the urban environment.

The mayoralty continues to monitor and take action against unsafe buildings throughout the governorate. A visually appealing city, a higher quality of life, and a more secure and environmentally friendly city are all goals that these endeavors help to achieve.

All of these things are a part of a larger strategy for Jeddah's urban development that will eventually lead to better infrastructure and a more pleasant cityscape. Recommend: Exit re-entry visa extension after one year of expiry
