Indian Tejas Fighter Jet Crashes at Dubai Airshow: Pilot Killed
An Indian fighter jet crashed on Friday during an event at the Dubai Air Show, according to witnesses and officials.
A witness said the Tejas aircraft was flying low in a loop before it went down and caught fire about 1.6 km from the main display area.
Dubai’s Media Office and the UAE Ministry of Defence said firefighters and rescue teams responded quickly and are handling the situation. Watch it in the video
The Indian Air Force confirmed that the pilot died in the crash. Dubai’s Government Media Office said emergency teams reacted immediately.
The crash happened at around 14:10 local time (10:10 GMT). The Indian Air Force said it is starting an investigation to find out what caused the accident and expressed deep sorrow over the pilot’s death.
