Saudi Schools Introduce Tourism and Hospitality in Curriculum | Vision 2030 Goals



The National Curriculum Center announced that Saudi Arabia will now teach tourism and hospitality to third-grade secondary school students. The goal is to build a tourism culture and train local students for future jobs.

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Tourism collaborated to add these new subjects. The subjects use a self-learning style and provide students with simple knowledge and useful skills in tourism and hospitality. The subjects will include:

➤ Tourism marketing.

➤ Sustainable tourism.

The center explained that the main goals are to:

■ Teach simple and clear ideas about tourism and hospitality.

■ Show how tourism helps the Saudi economy.

■ Make students aware of the Kingdom’s natural, cultural, and heritage sites.

■ Build skills in tourism marketing and event planning.

■ Teach students to apply sustainable tourism methods.

■ Encourage innovation and business ideas in tourism with projects.
