A journey of Life time begins for 1 Million Muslims, including 300 disabled pilgrims


A spiritual journey of Life time begins for a million pilgrims as the first rituals of the annual Hajj began. This is the largest Hajj pilgrimage, after the outbreak of corona pandemic.







After performing Tawaf Al-Qudum around the Kaaba at Makkah, hundreds and thousands of Hajj pilgrims started move to the biggest tent city at Mina, which is about 5 kilometers from the Makkah Grand Mosque. Read : Few interesting facts on Hajj pilgrimage

- Most of them traveled in buses and other vehicles, while some others on foot, following the noble tradition of Prophet Mohammed, the pilgrims will spend day and night on Thursday in Mina, which is known as the Tarwiyah Day.

- On the first day of Hajj rituals, they will engage in supplications and making final preparations for standing at Arafat, the most important pillar of Hajj, making the climax of annual pilgrimage on Friday.





300 disabled people to perform Hajj pilgrimage under National Initiative :

About 300 people with disabilities have arrived at Jeddah's King Abdulaiz International Airport to perform Hajj this year, as part of National Initiative launched by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for the second year in a row. Trending : This year Kaaba Kiswa to be replaced on 1st Muharram instead of 9th Dhu Al-Hijjah

The National Initiative aims to allow people with disabilities and orphans in all regions of Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj pilgrimage with ease and comfort, as part of the efforts made by the Saudi government to serve them, in line with the country's Vision 2030 reform plan.




- The Ministry is keen to provide them with escorts and suitable housing equipped with all facilities needed by them in Makkah and the holy sites taking into account their conditions.
