Four Saudi Companies Sign Major Deals to Develop Oil and Gas Fields in Syria Under Ministry of Energy Supervision



Under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy, four Saudi companies signed agreements on Wednesday with the Syrian Petroleum Company to support and develop oil and gas fields in Syria. The Saudi companies involved are TAQA, ADES Holding, Arabian Drilling, and the Arabian Geophysical and Surveying Company (ARGAS).

These agreements continue the growing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Syria in the energy sector. They are part of the memorandums of understanding signed on August 28, 2025, and follow several technical workshops and field visits to Syrian gas fields and related facilities. Details of the Signed Agreements

1. ADES Holding Agreement

ADES Holding and the Syrian Petroleum Company signed an agreement that outlines the main principles for developing, operating, and producing gas fields. This agreement prepares the foundation for a final technical services contract to manage gas fields and related facilities in the contract area.

The goal is to increase production in five gas fields:

➤ Abu Rabah

➤ Qamqam

➤ North Al-Faydh

➤ Al-Tiyas

➤ Zumlat al-Mahar

It may also include additional areas that both sides agree on later.

2. TAQA Master Service Agreement

TAQA signed a master service agreement to provide advanced, integrated solutions for building and maintaining oil and gas fields and wells in Syria. 3. ARGAS Master Service Agreement

ARGAS signed a long-term service agreement to provide 2D and 3D seismic surveys and technical services that support exploration and drilling. The agreement creates a framework for strong cooperation to advance oil and gas exploration and development in Syria. It focuses on fast response, operational flexibility, and efficient startup of technical projects.

4. Arabian Drilling Agreement

Arabian Drilling Company signed an agreement to provide drilling and workover services for oil and gas wells in Syria. This includes leasing and operating onshore drilling and workover rigs. Arabian Drilling will supply the rigs, carry out drilling and workover operations, offer operational support, and provide training and workforce development.
