Riyadh Season 2025 Belongs to Everyone: Turki Alalshikh

Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, defended Riyadh Season on Sunday, saying it “belongs to everyone” and continues to grow in importance.

“Riyadh Season is for all — we don’t need anyone, people need us,” Alalshikh said during a government press conference. Most Viewed: Saudi Arabia resumes paragliding sport

He explained that any negative comments about the event come from within the region, not from abroad. “Maybe it’s worry about Saudi Arabia’s progress in entertainment and tourism, but I don’t have a clear reason,” he added. “Riyadh Season will appreciate those who appreciate it.”

Grand Opening Parade

The 2025 Riyadh Season will start on October 10 with a large parade at Boulevard Riyadh City. The parade will feature 25 giant balloons, 25 floats, 3,000 performers, and over 300 handlers, organized with the help of U.S. company Macy’s. Entry to the event will be free for visitors starting at 4 p.m.

Global Reach and Ambitious Goals

Last year’s season achieved 110 billion media impressions, 3,300 media visits from more than 100 countries, and attracted 20 million visitors from 135 nations. Alalshikh said the 2025 edition aims to beat those numbers, even though it will be shorter because of Ramadan.

The event will focus on three main goals:
