Paragliding Returns to Saudi Arabia: New Safety Rules and Vision 2030 Goals



Paragliding in Saudi Arabia can once again take flight, according to the Saudi Paragliding Federation, which received approval from Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.

Based in Abha, the federation said this step strengthens Saudi Arabia’s position as a top destination for aerial sports. It also supports Vision 2030 goals to grow and diversify the country’s sports sector.

In recent months, officials have created new safety rules and regulations with help from government agencies and experts. Paragliding is a growing activity, and these steps will help keep spectators safe as they enjoy the sport.

Competitions for both enthusiast and professional pilots, as well as advanced training programs and qualification courses, will be part of the phase that comes next.

In order to foster information exchange, cultivate local talent, and grow the paragliding community, Saudi Arabia intends to hold international championships and tournaments.
