World’s Tallest Upcoming Buildings: Saudi Rise Tower, Jeddah Tower, and Burj Azizi
Saudi Arabia is planning two massive skyscraper projects that will beat Dubai’s Burj Khalifa in height. The Burj Khalifa is currently the tallest building in the world at 828 meters.
Rise Tower – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
➤ Height: 2,000 meters (2 km), making it the tallest structure ever built.

➤ Developer: Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF)
➤ Cost: $5 billion
➤ Status: Design competition finished; contractor bidding in mid-2025; construction not yet started.
➤ Features: Designed by Foster + Partners. Will include hotels, offices, residences, entertainment, dining, observation decks, and leisure areas.
➤ Project Background: Announced in 2023 as part of the North Pole project near King Khalid International Airport. It will be 1,170 meters taller than the Burj Khalifa.
Jeddah Tower – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

πΉ Developer: Jeddah Economic Company and Kingdom Holding Company (Prince Alwaleed bin Talal)
πΉ Cost: $1.23 billion (tower only)
πΉ Status: Construction restarted in January 2025 after delays since 2018. 69 floors completed by August 2025. Expected completion by 2028.
πΉ Features: Designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill (also designers of Burj Khalifa). Includes offices, residences, the Four Seasons hotel, and the highest observation deck in the world.
πΉ Project Role: Main centerpiece of Jeddah Economic City. The project is a component of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 plan, which aims to diversify the economy and attract global investment. Recommend: Saudi Arabia to deport expats with serious traffic violations
Burj Azizi – Dubai, UAE
π Height: Confirmed 725 meters; possible final height close to 1,000 meters.

π Developer: Azizi Developments (CEO Mirwais Azizi)

πStatus: Construction began in 2023; expected completion between 2027 and 2028.
π Features: Luxury residences, shops, entertainment, and a “seven-star” hotel. Will set records for highest hotel lobby, nightclub, observation deck, restaurant, and hotel room.
π Location: Built along Sheikh Zayed Road near Burj Khalifa. Planned as Dubai’s second-tallest tower.
