Saudi Arabia to Deport Expats for Serious Traffic Violations
Saudi authorities have approved new amendments to the Traffic Law that say non-Saudis (expatriates) will be deported from the Kingdom if a final court ruling finds them guilty of traffic violations that put public safety at risk.
Once deported, these individuals will not be allowed to re-enter Saudi Arabia, according to information confirmed by Okaz/Saudi Gazette from reliable sources. Trending: Fine for not carrying a driving license while driving in Saudi Arabia
This new rule will be applied through joint regulations made by the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, and the Public Prosecution.
The amendments also add tougher penalties for violations that threaten public safety.
According to the new rules:
➤ If someone commits the same violation again within one year, they will face the maximum fine.
➤ If the violation happens a third time within the same year, the case will go to court. The court may give a prison sentence of up to one year, or it may decide to double the fine for the second violation instead of sending the person to jail.
The updated regulations also clearly list which traffic violations are considered dangerous to public safety and explain how violators will be referred to the court. Most Viewed: Important traffic violations and their fines in KSA
