Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Sign Strategic Defense Agreement to Strengthen Security



Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed a joint strategic defense agreement on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed after official talks between the two leaders at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh. The statement said the deal shows the shared commitment of both nations to enhance security and achieve peace in the region and the world.

It builds on nearly 80 years of partnership between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, based on brotherhood, Islamic solidarity, strategic interests, and close defense ties.

Prime Minister Sharif arrived in Riyadh on a state visit at the invitation of the Crown Prince. High-ranking delegations from both countries attended his official talks. The meeting went on about the strong bilateral ties and initiatives to strengthen the strategic alliance in various domains.

Regional and international developments, as well as initiatives to maintain stability and security, were also topics of discussion among the leaders. They discussed issues of mutual interest while highlighting the strategic and historical links between the two countries.

Sharif began the meeting by expressing his gratitude to the Crown Prince for the gracious hospitality he and his group had received. He also conveyed best wishes for King Salman, the Crown Prince, and the people of Saudi Arabia. In return, the Crown Prince wished good health and success for Sharif and progress and prosperity for the people of Pakistan.
