Saudi Arabia Cracks Down on Illegal Passenger Transport Services
The Transport General Authority (TGA) in Saudi Arabia has started inspection campaigns in many cities and regions to monitor and punish violations in passenger transport services.
The campaigns target people who try to transport passengers with private cars without the required licenses, as well as those offering illegal ride services known as “kadadah.” See Also: Saudi Arabia bans unlicensed passenger transport in its new law
According to the new Land Transport Law, violators can face fines of up to 20,000 Saudi Riyals, vehicle impoundment for 60 days, and in cases of repeated violations, the vehicle may be sold at a public auction. Non-Saudi violators may also be deported.
The TGA said that inspection teams are working 24/7 in cooperation with other authorities. The goal is to increase compliance, support fair competition among licensed transport companies, and ensure safe and reliable services.
These actions support the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
The authority advised all passengers to use licensed transport providers to protect their rights and ensure their safety. Most Viewed: Saudi Arabia issues new taxi and airport transport regulations
