One of the resident expats asked a question: "I have a single visit visa for my family that expires on June 15, 2025, but when I renew it in Absher, it refuses to renew it. I only have 5 days left, and I don’t know how to renew it."
The Passports Department, in response, explained that the instructions require adherence to the visa regulations as recorded in the system and departure before the visa expires.
Passports provides an electronic service for Saudi citizens and resident expatriates to extend multiple and single-entry visit visas through the Absher platform.
Procedure to extend a visit visa:
1. Log in to Absher and verify OTP.
2. Select "Family Member" or "Workers" from available electronic services, then select "Services," and then click on "Extend Visit Visa." See Also: Jawazat clarifies on renewal of visit visas
The Absher platform has set the conditions for extending a visit visa, which are
* At the time of visa extension, the remaining validity period of the visa must be less than 7 days, and if the visa is expired, it must not exceed 3 days, including the visa expiration date.
* The visa holder (visitor) must be present inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
* Pay visa extension fees.
* Validity of the visa holder's (visitor's) passport at the time of the extension process.

* The visa holder (visitor) must not have any unpaid traffic violations.
* The duration of the medical insurance must cover the requested extension period.
