Saudi Arabia arrests 13,118 illegals within a week in the Kingdom
Within a week, 13,118 individuals were arrested in Saudi Arabia for their status as unlawful residents. The Ministry of Interior reported on Saturday that the arrests occurred during inspections conducted by the security forces in cooperation with the relevant government authorities from May 15th to May 21st. Among those caught are 8,150 individuals for violations of the Residency Law, 3,344 for violations of the Border Security Law, and 1,624 for violations of the Labor Law. A total of 11,566 individuals were deported, 15,936 were directed to their diplomatic missions to receive travel documents, and 1,359 were directed to finish their trip bookings, according to the ministry.
There were 1,207 individuals arrested as they attempted to enter the Kingdom on foot. Of these, 37% were Yemeni, 61% were Ethiopian, and 2% were of other nationalities. Additional arrests included 13 persons who provided transportation, housing, and jobs to those who violated the law.
As part of the harsh penalties imposed on unlawful residents, 21,872 individuals, including 20,616 males and 1,256 females, are currently undergoing various stages of legal procedures. Recommend: Obtain and activate eSIM upon arrival to Saudi Arabia without visiting any store
The Ministry of Interior has issued a warning that anyone who helps people illegally enter the Kingdom, whether by transporting them, providing housing, or any other service, might face a fine of up to SR1 million and a maximum prison sentence of 15 years. The document noted the impending seizure of any houses or vehicles utilized for providing shelter.
