Government departments are not obligate to insure their workers in Saudi Arabia - Health Council


The official spokesperson for the Cooperative Council of Health Insurance (CCHI) confirmed that there is no obligation for government departments to provide insurance to their employees. Read : Benefits of Unified Health Insurance policy







During a interview in An-Nahar news program on Al-Ekhbariya, the CCHI spokesperson said that their role as the Insurance Council is to regulate the private health insurance sector, including the insured from other types of insurance.

- The Health Insurance Council (Daman) had announced an increase in the rate of commitment in health insurance, resulted in an increase in the number of insured beneficiaries during the second quarter of the year 2022, and a rate of 83% was recorded, with an increase of 8% compared to the same quarter of last year. - The Council further said that its records revealed that the number of insured persons exceeded 10 million barrier during the second quarter of this year, as about 10,050,044 beneficiaries registered in health insurance, estimated at 83% were monitored, last year in the same quarter the number was about 9,150,264 at a rate of 75%.





- Al-Juhani explained that the increase in the number of insured beneficiaries during the second quarter of the year 2022 was thanks to the efforts of the Health Insurance Council to ensure compliance with the supervisory role to empower the sector and make sure that the beneficiaries obtain their full right by allowing them to provide their rights of care and protection with highest quality and efficiency and to ensure the application of regulations to compliance in the sector.
