7 expats arrested for Begging in several regions of Saudi Arabia and this what Law states on Beggary


The security authorities in Saudi Arabia continuing their efforts in all regions of the Kingdom to combat beggary in the country. The Public Security authority arrested 7 resident expatriates for direct beggary involvement. Like and Follow Saudi Expatriates on Facebook







Two women accompanied by a child were arrested in the Asir region, begging in front of the mosque. The Public Security arrested a woman who practiced direct beggary in front of the shops, another woman arrested for begging at the signal.

- The Public Security monitored a resident expat of Najran, who begged directly in front of a petrol pump, and another one caught begging in front of shops, who belongs to a cleaning company. Trending : Low salaries of cleaners push them to beg, Riyadh pays the lowest wage

- The authority also arrested a woman who practiced direct beggary from motorists, while Al-Baha region caught a resident expat begging directly in front of the shops.





- The Anti-Beggary law of Saudi Arabia specifies that whoever engages in beggary, incites, agrees with, assists others in practice of begging, shall be punished with a jail term of not more than 6 months and a fine of not more than 50,000 riyals or both.

- The law also states, whoever engages in beggary, manages beggars, incite others, agrees with him or helps him to do any of that within an organized group that engages in beggary, will be punished with a jail term of not more than one year or a fine of not more than 100,000 riyals or both. - According to the same law, all cash and in-kind funds that the beggar received from his beggary, or that would be used in it, shall be seized by a court ruling. If any of these funds cannot be seized, the competent court imposed a fine equivalent to its value and with due regard to the rights of good faith.
