Riyadh Municipality warns against setting Fires and using Shisha in Public Parks, Know the penalties of it as per Environmental Law


The Riyadh Municipality (Amanat Al-Riyadh) in Saudi Arabia confirmed that the rules and regulations in the Kingdom not allows setting fires and using hookah (Shisha) in public parks and gardens. Penalties as per Environmental Law :

- According to the Environmental Law, setting fires in forests or national parks or in places other than designated for it, is a violation and its violator need to face a penalty of 3,000 riyals in addition to applying the penalties for burning trees and shrubs stipulated it in the executive regulations for logging.

- The regulation also stated that damaging fixed or movable materials, cutting or damaging fences, or tampering with border or indicative signs in forests or national parks is a violation of up to 3000 riyals, while the violation of distorting public and natural landmarks in forests or national parks by writing, drawing or sculpting has a fine of up to 400 riyals, with obligating violators to repair the damage and pay compensation. - The penalty for destroying or altering the natural state of any material, its furniture and equipment, and for any other archaeological and cultural landmarks within forests or national parks has a fine of 4,000 riyals, with violators obligated to repair the damage and pay compensation.

- The national parks and vegetation cover sites in the Kingdom are considered a natural wealth that contributes to improving the climate and reducing pollution, and throwing waste in them is a grave systematic violation that distorts the civilized appearance and negatively affects the environment.
