 Video : Launching the new 5 Riyals Denomination, Circulation from 5th October - SAMA


The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, (SAMA) has announced its intention to introduce a denomination of "5 riyals" of the Saudi currency made of polymer, during the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.



The Monetary Authority stated that the design and colors of the five riyal category of polymer material were taken into consideration to be similar to the design and colors of the same paper class currently in circulation, taking into account the different manufacturing techniques, technical specifications, and security marks for this category. - It indicated that the initial quantities of the new category will be put into circulation as of Monday, 10/5/2020 , along with the current 5 riyal denomination, and the rest of the sixth issue of the circulating banknotes, as legal official currency.

- SAMA confirmed that the new five-riyal denomination was printed according to the latest standards in the field of currency printing from polymer material, as it is characterized by many technical specifications and high quality security marks, pointing out that the design of this category included on the face of the paper the image of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, and a picture of the Shaybah field in the Empty Quarter.
