 Biman Airlines, Saudia to operate 17 flights a Week


Biman  Bangladeshi Airlines has started operating flights to Saudi Arabia while Saudia has increased the number of its weekly flights from Dhaka, offering some relief to nearly 55,000 stranded Bangladeshi expatriates seeking to come back to Gulf countries.



Biman got permission from Saudi authorities to operate 9 chartered flights to Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh every week from Thursday, said the member of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.

- According to the sources at airlines, around 3,000 expatriate workers are stranded in Bangladesh due to Corona virus restrictions, will be able to return Saudi Arabia every week through 9 flights reports the Daily Star. 

- As per the report, Initially Biman would operate 9 flights a week from 1st October to 24th October. It can be consider as regular flights as Saudi authorities have already given Biman Airlines the landing permission in advance.

- In another development, Saudi Airlines to operate 4 more flights from Dhaka every week, The Caab chief said they were ready to give permission to Saudi Airlines to operate as many flights as they wanted. The 8 Saudia flights will fly 2,500 passengers a week.
