 Grand Mosque in Makkah is ready to receive first batch of Pilgrims with Precautionary measures


The Grand Mosque in Makkah will receive the first groups of Umrah pilgrims after the issuance of the generous approval of the gradual return of life in accordance with the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the new Corona virus Covid 19, as the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah allowed the application of “Eatmarna” for those wishing to perform Umrah.



Several sites have been prepared, namely: (Ajyad, Al-Shasha, Al-Gaza, and Al-Zahir) to group the pilgrims, then transport them to the Grand Mosque by buses designated to transport pilgrims accompanied by health facilities. 

- The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque completed its preparations to receive the pilgrims, applying the highest precautionary measures, in cooperation with the competent authorities, as it recruited no less than (1000) employees to follow the rituals of Umrah in the Grand Mosque. - The Presidency has taken all measures and precautions taken to ensure the safety and comfort of those who visit the Grand Mosque, and to provide the best and most sophisticated services to the guests of Rahman to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership, may God protect it.

- The presidency also cleans the Grand Mosque (10) times a day before and after the Umrah groups, washing and sanitizing the toilets (6) times a day, sterilizing the carpets of the Grand Mosque and sterilizing its place before returning it around the clock, sterilizing the basins of the Zamzam water fountains, sterilizing all vehicles, and changing the rules of keepers.

- Used cups first-hand with continuous sterilization, installation of sterilization devices for escalators, installation of hand sterilization devices at the entrances to the Grand Mosque, sterilization of air-conditioning systems with ultraviolet rays, cleaning of air filters (9) times a day in (3) stages, and perfuming the Grand Mosque and its corridors over the course of the clock. - Within a package of precautionary measures projects in the Grand Mosque, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque placed thermal cameras, within plans it had developed since the closure of the Grand Mosque, concerning how to deal with pilgrims after the competent authorities allowed them to do so, to ensure their safety, and to preserve the Two Holy Mosques Free from the emerging corona virus.

- The thermal cameras work, through advanced and high-resolution monitoring systems, to issue alerts when a temperature rise is recorded for any of the Grand Mosque's visitors, which allows to deal quickly with suspected cases of infection with the virus, and to take all preventive and precautionary measures taken against them. 

- The presidency allocated the Mataf for Tawaf, with the aim of making it easier for the pilgrims to perform their rituals easily and to preserve their safety to perform their rituals to the fullest. See Also : Saudi Arabia to hold G20 Summit Virtually

- For his part, the President-General Sheikh Dr. Abdul-Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais commended the generous approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to allow performing Umrah in the Grand Mosque and to visit the honorable kindergarten in the Prophet's Mosque, in accordance with precautionary measures to prevent the gradual spread of the Corona virus.
