Saudi Arabia's Careem and Uber suspends 'TAXI' service option after Government announcement

Careem and Uber has suspended regular taxi booking services in Saudi Arabia, In compliance with the Kingdom's government measure to curb the transport to help in stopping the spread of coronavirus in the country. Trending : Careem promo code for free ride




The Ministry of Interior announced it was suspending all domestic flights, trains, buses and taxis for 14 days starting from March 21, 2020, with few exceptions. - Uber in its announcement said, As per the measures announced by the Ministry of Interior, we are suspending Uber Taxi in the Kingdom until further notice. However, The measures do not include private cars on ride sharing apps.

- Uber also said, All other options on the Uber app, inlcuding Uber X, UberComfort and Uber Eats are still available for 'essential travel and delivery'.

- Uber announced all types of cars will be suspending during curfew time 7 PM to 6 AM for 21 days and reminded everyone to go out only in urgent matters.




- Careem in its announcement said, In compliance with the government's measures to curb the coronavirus, we suspended 'Taxi' car in the app. Remember that going out should only be for urgent matters.

- Careem also said, However, When necessary, You can book Go or any other preferred car. While at home, you can order food from Careem NOW app or anything you need, and we will deliver right to your door, 'Stay Home - Stay Safe'.
