Hospital Followed Medical Rules

The court found that the private hospital fully followed medical regulations by treating the patient urgently. The judges ruled that the hospital cannot be financially penalized simply because the patient was not legally registered in the country.

According to Saudi News, the man was brought to the hospital in a serious condition that required immediate treatment.

Patient Died Before Transfer

The patient died before hospital staff could complete the procedures needed to transfer him to a government hospital.

During the course of treatment, the private hospital formally contacted the appropriate government authority to request one of the following options:

➤ Payment of the treatment costs, or

➤ Immediate transfer of the patient to a government facility

The authority rejected the request, stating that the man was an illegal resident. See Also: SCFHS sees 7.6% growth in registered health workers in Saudi Arabia
