Saudi Arabia Braces for Heavy Rain and Flash Floods Across Multiple Regions



The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) announced in its Wednesday weather update that rainfall will continue across most regions of Saudi Arabia.

The NCM predicts moderate to heavy thunderstorms in parts of Makkah, Madinah, Qassim, Riyadh, the Eastern Province, and the Northern Borders. These storms may lead to flash floods and come with hail and strong winds.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain is likely in parts of Hail, Tabuk, and Al-Jouf, as well as in some areas of the southwestern highlands. Some regions may also experience fog. See Also: Saudi Arabia warns of traffic violations with up to 6000 riyals

The NCM also shared details about wind conditions:

Red Sea Weather

➤ Surface winds will be northwesterly to northerly in the northern and central parts.

➤ Winds will be southeasterly to southerly in the southern part.

➤ Wind speeds will range from 18 to 40 km/h, reaching up to 50 km/h.

Arabian Gulf Weather

🔘 Winds will be southeasterly to southerly with speeds of 10–35 km/h, reaching over 60 km/h.

🔘 Wave heights will range from 0.5 to 1.5 meters, going above 2.5 meters.
