King Abdulaziz International Airport Sets Record With 50 Million Passengers in 2025

King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah made a historic milestone by serving 50 million passengers in one year in 2025. This is the highest number of passengers ever handled by any airport in Saudi Arabia since the country’s aviation sector began.

With this achievement, KAIA has officially joined the group of the world’s mega airports, which includes the busiest airports globally based on passenger traffic. The record reflects the airport’s rapid development into a major regional and international aviation hub.

The milestone also highlights KAIA’s important role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals. The airport helps strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a global tourism destination and serves as the main air gateway to the Two Holy Mosques, enabling smooth travel for pilgrims, visitors, and international travelers. CEO: Airport Prepared for the Next Stage of Growth

Eng. Mazen Johar, Chief Executive Officer of Jeddah Airports Company, said that reaching 50 million passengers shows the airport’s strong operational readiness and marks the beginning of a new phase of growth.

He explained that the company plans to double and further increase passenger numbers in the coming years. Capacity expansion projects and continuous service improvements will support this growth.

Johar credited the achievement to the support of Saudi Arabia’s leadership and the cooperation of the Emirate of the Makkah Region, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, MATARAT Holding, and all partners working together to deliver high-quality services to travelers.
