Saudi Arabia’s 2025 Hajj: Best in 50 Years, 91% Pilgrim Satisfaction
Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said the 2025 Hajj season was exceptional on every level. He described it as the best Hajj in the past 50 years, with pilgrim satisfaction reaching 91 percent. He made the statement during the fifth Hajj Conference and Exhibition.
The conference, held under the patronage of King Salman, began on Sunday at Jeddah Superdome. It was organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Pilgrim Experience Program, part of Saudi Vision 2030, under the theme “From Makkah to the World.” Recommend: Hajj 2026 registrations now opened online for Muslim minority countries
The event also launched the first History of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques Forum, organized by the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah). Ministers, senior officials, representatives of Islamic countries, and heads of Hajj offices attended the opening ceremony.
The conference and exhibition will continue until November 12, including over 143 sessions and workshops with experts and speakers from more than 150 countries.
Saudi Leadership’s Commitment to Pilgrims
On behalf of King Salman, Prince Saud bin Mishaal, the Deputy Emir of Makkah, opened the conference. In his speech, he confirmed the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to serving the Two Holy Mosques and caring for their visitors and pilgrims, continuing the efforts started by King Abdulaziz.
Prince Saud praised the success and strong organization of the 2025 Hajj, noting the teamwork among all government agencies. He expressed hope that the conference outcomes would enhance international cooperation and coordination in Hajj management.
Hajj as a Journey of Faith and Unity
Prince Faisal bin Salman, special advisor to King Salman and chairman of Darah, said that Hajj is more than a seasonal act of worship—it is a journey of faith and unity that has continued throughout history.
He explained that Hajj represents the unity and strength of the Muslim Ummah (nation) and that Saudi Arabia has made serving pilgrims a religious and national duty. Most Viewed: Top 10 countries with highest Hajj quota in 2025
Prince Faisal announced the launch of the “History of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques Forum,” in partnership with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Doyof Al Rahman Program. The initiative aims to document the history of Hajj from pre-Islamic times to the Saudi era, using scientific methods and historical evidence to show development and progress through the ages.
He added that since the first Saudi state, the leadership has protected Hajj caravans, secured pilgrimage routes, and cared for pilgrims, making it a religious trust and national responsibility passed down from one generation to the next.
Prince Faisal emphasized that the Saudi leadership, from King Abdulaziz to the current rulers, has continued to organize and improve Hajj services, reaching the highest levels of efficiency and integration today.
Advancing Hajj Services with Vision 2030
In his remarks, Minister Al-Rabiah said the conference reflects the Kingdom’s leadership support and its commitment to improving Hajj services in line with Vision 2030. The goal is to provide smooth, spiritual, and enriching experiences for all worshippers. Read: A viral story of Hajj pilgrim's faith and fate
He explained that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah began preparations for the next Hajj immediately after the end of the previous one, working closely with the Supreme Hajj Committee and other government bodies.
According to the minister, contracts for more than 60 percent of pilgrims have already been completed. Dhul Qadah 1 expects the holy sites to be fully ready, with half already completed. The Ministry of Tourism has collaborated to prepare over 70 percent of hotels and residential buildings.
Al-Rabiah noted that integrated services and teamwork led to a sharp rise in pilgrim satisfaction, increasing from 74 percent in 2022 to 91 percent in 2025. He thanked everyone who contributed to this success.
Technology and Cultural Development
The minister highlighted that the Nusk app now has over 40 million users worldwide and has entered a new phase of AI-based development through the “Nusk AI” feature.
He also mentioned the development of 71 historical and cultural sites in Makkah and Madinah, which have been visited by more than 3 million people, with a satisfaction rating above 95 percent.
Strengthening Cooperation
Several organizations signed agreements and memoranda of understanding during the conference to enhance cooperation in technology, operations, and service quality for pilgrims. See Also: Know about the Holy site Mina, from where Hajj rituals begin
