Over 23,000 Individuals Processed for Residency, Labor, and Border Security violations


The most recent round of coordinated field operations nabbed 23,167 people around the kingdom for violating Saudi Arabia's restrictions on residence, labor, and border security. Trending: Saudi Arabia's sleeping prince passed away after being in a coma for 20 years.

In a statement, the Ministry of the Interior of Saudi Arabia announced the activities that took place from July 10th to July 16th, 2025.

There were a total of 15,525 people taken into custody for infractions of residency restrictions, 5,511 for violations of border security legislation, and 3,131 for violations of labor laws.

Similarly, the Saudi government apprehended 1,593 individuals who attempted to enter the country illegally during that period. Among them, 69% were Ethiopians, 30% were Yemenis, and 1% belonged to other nationalities. The authorities also apprehended 41 individuals who attempted to exit the country illegally.

Additionally, 22 individuals were caught as a result of the effort on charges of harboring, employing, transporting, or otherwise providing assistance to those who had violated the law. There are 16,441 people going through the judicial system right now, with 14,255 men and 2,186 women.

While 3,393 were directed to finalize their travel arrangements, 8,622 were directed to their diplomatic offices to get travel documents. A grand total of 10,587 people have been expelled so far from the country.

Anyone caught helping illegal immigrants enter the kingdom, whether by housing them, transporting them, or providing any other form of assistance, will face harsh penalties, according to the Ministry of Interior. These penalties include public shaming, fines of up to SR1 million, confiscation of homes and vehicles used in the crime, and prison terms of up to 15 years.

These offenses are serious breaches of public trust and integrity, which necessitate imprisonment. Anyone in Makkah, Riyadh, the Eastern Province, or Madinah can call 911 to report a violation; those in other areas can call 999 or 996. Follow Saudi Expatriates on LinkedIn
