Free Luggage storage is now available at Makkah Grand Mosque
Officials in Saudi Arabia have stated that Muslims coming to the Kingdom to perform Umrah, the minor pilgrimage, will have access to a free luggage storage service at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. Trending: Cold wave in Saudi Arabia
Two spots in the courtyards of Islam's holiest mosque, the Grand Mosque, have been designated for this service by the Saudi General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques.
1. One is at the eastern courtyard, next to the Makkah Library, and
2. The western courtyard, where you can find a free luggage storage spot.
In order for pilgrims to take advantage of this free luggage storage service, the governmental agency has laid down the following regulations.
* One of these is showing the Nusuk app-issued Umrah permit.
* Moreover, none of the valuables or prohibited materials may be contained in the checked baggage.
* Please note that the storage duration is strictly limited to four hours and that only bags are allowed. Read: A new service of Absher reports launched in Absher platform
* There should not be any food or medicine in the bag.
* The maximum allowed weight for each bag is 7 kilograms.
* The delivery card must also be presented by pilgrims in order to reclaim their bags.
To ensure that worshippers can carry out their rites in comfort, the Authority intends to expand the number of luggage storage facilities to accommodate all entrances to the Grand Mosque.
