Crossing restricted borders in Saudi Arabia attracts severe Penalties


The General Directorate of Border Guards in Saudi Arabia has advised Saudi nationals and resident expatriates visiting wilderness to stay away from restricted border areas and follow the rules and orders that prohibits going near to such areas. Such areas have clear warning signs and earthen barriers along the borders of these places to make them easy to spot.

- The directorate also clarified that people who ignore these warning signs and enter the restricted areas will be punished according to the Border Security Law and its executive rules.

- Fines of up to 25,000 riyals, jail time of up to 30 months, or both are possible, for violating such laws. Trending : Green spaces in Makkah region increased 600% within just 5 months

- The authority asked all visitors and people who frequent wilderness areas close to the border to follow the rules and directions. 

- The directorate clarified that it would not be afraid to confront people who violate them and report them to the right authorities.
