Saudi Arabia announces discovery of new Natural gas in Eastern Province and Empty Quarter


Aramco found two natural gas fields in the Empty Quarter, according to Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Energy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Trending video : Holidays and Personal leaves in Saudi Arabia



More than 30 million standard cubic feet of gas and 1600 barrels of condensate per day flowed from the "Hanifa" reservoir into the (Al-Hiran - 1) well. In addition to the flow of gas from the Al-Hiran reservoir. This is how the "Al-Hiran" natural gas field was discovered.

- Al-Arab-C in the same field at a rate of (3.1) million standard cubic feet per day and the "Al-Mahakik" natural gas field was also found after gas flowed at a rate of (0.85) million standard cubic feet per day from the (Al-Mahakik-2) well.

- In a separate development, the Minister confirmed that natural gas had been found in 5 reservoirs in areas that had already been found. After gas flowed at a rate of 46 million standard cubic feet per day in "Al-Jallah" in the "Asikra" field in the Empty Quarter, an extra reservoir was found in the "Shadun" field west of the center of Haradh. Also, natural gas was found in the "Unayzah" reservoir - A" after gas flowed at a rate of 15.5 million standard cubic feet per day with about 460 barrels of condensate. - On the "Mazalig" field southwest of Dhahran, natural gas was found in the "Unayzah B/C" reservoir. The gas moved at a rate of (14) million standard cubic feet per day, along with about 4.150 barrels of condensate per day. Both the "Al-Sarra" reservoir in the "Al-Wadhihi" field and the "Al-Qusaiba" reservoir in the "Awtad" field southwest of the city of Al-Hofuf were also found to have natural gas. An average of 11.7 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day flowed from the "Al-Sara" reservoir and the "Al-Qusaiba" reservoir. A rate of 1.5 million standard cubic feet per day, along with 57 barrels of condensate per day.

- Aramco intends to increase its gas production by 50% from 2021 levels by 2030. Its main business is producing oil.

- Aramco said at the end of September that it had agreed to buy a strategic minority stake in MidOcean Energy, a company that makes liquefied natural gas (LNG), for $500 million.
