King Saud Medical City warns against leaving Children in a Car during High temperatures


King Saud Medical City (KSMC) issued a warning against leaving kids in cars for a long period of time during the day, as well as against exposing them to extreme heat and being careful to avoid them by drinking enough fluids. Follow Saudi Expatriates on Twitter



The King Saud Medical City through its official Twitter handle stated the following injuries which are caused by exposure to high temperatures,

* Heat exhaustion

* Sunstroke

* Skin rashes

* Sunburn and


- The hot temperature may make chronic illnesses like heart disease and others worse, according to Saud Medical. So it is advisable to stay out of the sun and drink plenty of water.

- The Saud Medical City also point out that eating well is important for surviving the heat wave and preventing the risk of dehydration, so it's important to choose fruits like melons, cherries, pears, oranges, berries, mangoes, and apricots that are high in water and important minerals.

High temperature increases burden on the Heart - Health consultant :

According to professor and consultant in cardiology and arterial catheterization Dr. Khaled Al-Nimr, "the summer heat increases the burden on the heart and leads to an increase in the pulse." Most Viewed : Final Exit visa during probationary period

- He added that, the higher the body temperature by 1 degrees Celsius, the higher the heart rate by 10 beats per minute.

- Al-Nimr said, "This summer, drink water even if you do not feel thirsty, because the reflex reaction to drinking water is greatly weakened in cases of heat stress, especially in the elderly."

- He advised that "sunstroke can occur in the shade as well, if the temperature is high with crowding and there is no continuous circulation of air to cool the body," and advised avoiding crowds in particular during hot weather to prevent heatstroke.
