Saudi Arabia announces Founding Day holiday for All and an Extra day for Public Sector


The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has just officially announced the holiday on the occasion of Founding Day on Wednesday, 22nd February for the public, private and non-profit sectors. See Also : Saudi Arabia offers free 4-days Transit visa for air travelers of Saudi Airlines and Flynas







The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development stated that all the workers (Saudi nationals and resident expatriates) will get an official holiday on Saudi Founding Day, which is going to be celebrated on 22nd February 2023 for the second year in a row.

- This comes, after the Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz declared 22nd February as the Kingdom's Founding Day last year and an official holiday every year in the country. Trending : List of national holidays for the Year 2023

- Public sector employees who are covered in the provisions of the executive regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service will have a holiday on Thursday too, the day following the Saudi Founding Day, as per the Article 128 of the regulations, as per the report of Saudi Press Agency.





- The day celebrates the founding of the first Saudi state in the year 1727 by Imam Mohammad bin Saud, with a view to strengthening the bond between the current-day Saudi citizens and their national heritage.
