Preventing trucks to enter into Riyadh without pre-booking permission, starting Today


The Transport General Authority (TGA) in Saudi Arabia, in cooperation with the concerned authorities announced the second phase of the program to regulate the entry of trucks in the city of Riyadh, starting from Today (17th January 2023). As per the announcement, starting Today, advance online appointments will be a condition for trucks entering the Riyadh city. The aim of the decision is

* To organize and regulate the flow of trucks, to reduce the congestion of trucks at the entrances during the ban time form entering into cities and to prevent their quantity at the city entrances. See Also : Four dangers of exceeding the speed limit on the road - Moroor

* To raise the quality and efficiency of logistical services and reducing their costs by easing the entry or trucks to cities in times of prohibition and reducing waiting time for the transportation.





Prohibition timings covered by the decision for entry of trucks :

1. From Sunday to Thursday (9 AM to 9 PM).

- The Transport General Authority in its statement said, the entry of trucks will be through pre-booking appointments at specific and scheduled times, in order to contribute to organize the flow of trucks, preventing their accumulation at the entrances of cities and to increase the quality and efficiency of transport in the Kingdom.




- The authority added that, the service aims to regulate and manage the flow of trucks in cities, by easing their entry during times of prevention and reducing waiting times, to reduce traffic congestion, and to stop the chunk of trucks at the entrances to cities.
