Implementation of the project to charge Electric cars in Madina roads

This comes in line with the Ministry of Energy's announcement on the readiness of the electric vehicle charging system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reports Ajel.

- Last week, the infrastructure team of e-vehicle charging stations, led by the Ministry of Energy announced that it has completed all legislative, regulatory and technical aspects to regulate electric vehicles charging activity market, by defining the necessary regulations for the installation of charging stations and their equipment. - The Ministry of Energy explained that the new regulations contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by making the Kingdom's economy a diversified sustainable economy based on enhancing productivity and raising the contribution of the private sector, and building new sectors suitable for the future capable of providing quality jobs for citizens, in addition to empowering vehicle owners, from charging cars easily, while ensuring quality and efficiency.





- The infrastructure team worked through electrical distribution service providers to organize the mechanism for receiving requests for the delivery of electric current to electric vehicle chargers for the parties wishing to operate or invest in these stations, by applying through online platform designated for this by electrical distribution service provider under the name of Electric Vehicle Charging Gateway.

- After completing the necessary procedures for installing these chargers and connecting the electric current for them, by choosing from the list of qualified contractors with the electrical distribution service provider, to make sure their installation as per the mechanism that provides safety for all. - The team includes in its membership the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA), the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the Ministry of Commerce, the Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center "KAFAA", the Saudi Electricity Company, and the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC)".

- The project reflects the cooperation of the government law to ensure the effectiveness, safety and compliance of charging stations with the Saudi Distribution Code, maintain the reliability of the electrical distribution network system, and support technology, innovation and leadership in them. The necessary regulatory requirements, while the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing issued the technical requirements for electric vehicle chargers, related to the regulations and licenses for sites and their requirements, and the integration of services and survey, while the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization issued regulations and technical specifications for these chargers, and is working to register, document and grant conformity certificates.
