Penalty for making or possessing Coins or Paper Notes similar to Kingdom Currency - Saudi Public Prosecution
The Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia renewed the reminder of the definition of money and the penalty for making papers similar to it. Read : 3 penalties for employing illegal and violating expats
The Public Prosecution said that the word 'Money' contained in the penal system for counterfeiting and faking money, means coins of all kinds, regardless of their type of metal minted, as well as paper notes circulated legally inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- The Prosecution further said that, whoever manufactures or possesses with the intention of selling or for cultural, industrial or commercial purposes coins or papers similar to the appearance of the Kingdom currency in circulation and this similarity leads the public into mistake will be penalized. - The penalties for such violation is with imprisonment for a period of up to 1 year and a fine of up to 2,000 riyals.
