HR Ministry clarifies on who to bear the fee of Work permit and Iqama renewal after a Job transfer


The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia has clarified on who will be the responsible to pay renewing the work permit and residence permit (iqama), after transferring the service of an expat worker. Follow Saudi Expatriates on Instagram







The Ministry through its official Twitter account said, after the service transfer of an expat worker, new employer must bear the renewal fee of work permit and residence permit and all the related fines of delay.

- This came in response from the Ministry to a question received on its Twitter, asking, I have a worker whose sponsorship was transferred and there was a case between him and previous company and the worker won it. - He continued stating that, when I want to renew the iqama and work permit of an expat worker, I was surprised that the work permit owed 18,000 riyals from the previous employer and I could not renew his Iqama or issued a work permit for him, is it reasonable for me to bear the mistake and neglect of the company.





- The HR Ministry had clarified that there is possibility of requesting a service transfer for an expat worker, for the same company.
