Children must not be employed before the age of 15 years - Saudi Public Prosecution


The Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia confirmed that children must not be employed before they reach the age of 15 years, this is based on the Child Protection Law and the Labor Law, on the occasion of International Day Against Child Labor. Follow Saudi Expatriates







The Public Prosecution posted an article from the Child Protection Law that specifies, without prejudice to what is stated in the Saudi Labor Law, it is prohibited to employ a child before he reaches the age of 15 years. - The Law also stipulates that, It is prohibited to assign him to work that may harm his safety or his physical or psychological health, or use in military action or armed conflict.





- According to Saudi Labor Law, No person under 15 years of age may be employed and is not allowed to enter workplaces. The competent minister may raise the age of certain categories of juveniles by decision, to allow persons aged between 13 to 15 years to be employed in light work as per the law. - The World Day Against Child Labor is a day launched by International Labor Organization to focus attention on the extent of the phenomenon of child labor in the world, to strengthen efforts to remove it. This celebration has been held on June of each year since the year 2002.
