Guiding Robots at Makkah Grand Mosque to answer Pilgrims questions in 11 Languages


The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques introduced robots in Makkah Grand Mosque that guides visitors on how to perform their Umrah rituals, issue fatwas, answer their questions and provide opportunities for people to communicate with scholars remotely.







The robots can provide guidance to the Grand Mosque visitors in 11 languages which are, Arabic, English, French, Russian, Persian, Turkish, Malay, Urdu, Chinese, Bengali and Hausa.

- The robot has the possibility of adding simultaneous interpretation for other languages and to communicate with sheikhs remotely, put several guidelines in more than one language through the remotely controlled robot. - The 4-wheeled robots have 21 inch touchscreens and are prepared with a smart stopping system that permits them to move freely and smoothly.





- The remotely controlled robots also have high resolution cameras which gives clarity in transmitting pictures, high resolution headphones and a microphone with high capture quality that provides clear sound transmission.
