Saudi Public Prosecution clarifies the penalty for Seizing others Money, including Jail and a Fine


The Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia clarified the penalties to be implemented against those who stole the money of others by various fraudulent means, which amount to 7 years jail term and a fine of up to 5 million riyals. Follow Saudi Expatriates on Pinterest







The Public Prosecution Authority clarified this on its official Twitter account that, anyone who illegally take the money of others, through any means of fraud, whether lying, deception or delusion, shall be punished with imprisonment for 7 years and a fine of five million riyals.

- The prosecution also stated that, according to the Attorney General's Decision No. 1, dated 1/1/1442 AH, seizing the money of others is a major crime, and is punishable under the laws in force to combat financial fraud. - Earlier, the Public Prosecution announced that, "the prohibition of seizing the money of others by deceiving them and forcing them to hand over the money, by all traditional means of fraud associated with the use of a computer or the information network."




- The authority said that financial fraud crimes provoke the offender's use of fraudulent methods accompanied by physical actions and external appearances that make the victim believe in their validity and deceive them, and this results in handing over the money to the accused and seizing it.

- From the last two years, the Kingdom launched a wide campaign called "cleansing institutions of corruption", and announced the detention of dozens of government officials in the civilian and military sectors, and they were charged with crimes including bribery, embezzlement, waste of public money and abuse of power.
