A French astronaut Thomas Pesquet has posted stunning pictures of circular farms in Saudi Arabia, describing them as looking from space as an "invasion" of the famous video game character Pacman.

The astronaut, who took the image from the International Space Station, said that the circles are for farms that depend in their irrigation system on fossil irrigation from the depths of the earth, and the water is spread over the crops in a circular motion.

- He added that although the circular farms seem random in their locations, they follow the locations of underground reservoirs. Trending : Saudi Arabia launches Free Local Roaming service in the Kingdom
