No repeat of Umrah in Ramadan, Taraweeh prayers shortened at Two Holy Mosques


The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia announced that pilgrims would be granted permission to perform Umrah only one time during the blessed month of Ramadan.



However, worshipers can get permit for performance of all the 5 obligatory prayers at Makkah's Grand Mosque on daily basis throughout the fasting month.

- Eatmarna app clarified that the pilgrims who got Umrah permit cannot apply for another Umrah permit before the expiry of first one. Trending : Fine for performing Umrah without permit during Ramadan

- Umrah pilgrims can also apply for permits for performance of obligatory prayers at Makkah's Grand Mosque, The worshipers will be issued permits for 5 prayers for 1 day at a time. It is not possible to get permits issued for more than 1 day.

- Worshipers can apply for the issuance of permit for the 2nd day after the expiry of the first permit. The permit issued for Isha prayer during Ramadan also includes performance of Taraweeh prayers.

- Saudi Arabia's King, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman had ordered to shorten taraweeh prayers at Grand Mosque and Prophet's Mosque during Ramadan. Recommend : Immunization is must for workers in service at Makkah

- The Head of the Presidency for the Affairs of Makkah's Grand Mosque and Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais said that Taraweeh prayers will be shortened to 10 rakaats from 20 rakaats, with the implementation of strict precautionary and preventive measures to ensure the safety of pilgrims and worshipers.

- The maximum duration of Taraweeh prayers in all mosques across Saudi Arabia shall not be more than 30 minutes said the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Sheikh.
