The spokesperson for Public Security in Saudi Arabia, Brigadier General Sami Al-Shuwairkh, announced that he monitored a number of false rumors about Covid-19, explaining that penalties and fines will be imposed on those who promote it.



He said during a telephone interview with the Al-Akhbariya channel that the Saudi Arabia has taken a number of preventive and precautionary measures against the Corona pandemic, which made the Kingdom at the forefront of countries in controlling the virus, stating that among the measures is to protect society from misinformation that is promoted about the Corona virus.  - He added that this rumors and false information may push some citizens and residents to take decisions based on them, explaining that the penalties will be imposed against the spreaders of rumors of Corona will lead to reduce it.

 
- Yesterday, The Ministry of Interior announced a fine of not less than 100,000 riyals and not more than one million riyals will be imposed, or imprisonment for a period of no less than a year and not more than 5 years, or both, for everyone who broadcasts rumors or publishes false information about the Corona pandemic.
