The King Salman Gate will include homes, cultural centers, and service buildings near the Grand Mosque. It will also add space for about 900,000 worshippers in both indoor and outdoor prayer areas.

The project will connect to public transportation systems to facilitate people's access to the Grand Mosque. The design will blend traditional Makkah architecture with contemporary city planning. This effort will keep the city's history and identity while making it more comfortable and useful. Around 19,000 square meters of old heritage and cultural sites will be restored to give visitors a better experience.

By 2036, the project is expected to create more than 300,000 jobs, helping to diversify Saudi Arabia’s economy.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) owns Rou'a Al-Haram Al-Makki Company, which is working on the project. The company follows international standards for real estate and sustainability. It focuses on using resources in a way that is beneficial for the environment, coming up with new ways to solve problems in cities, and making life better for both residents and pilgrims.
