Heartwarming Story: Saudi Woman Saves Husband’s Second Wife with Liver Donation

In Taif, Saudi Arabia, a woman donated 80% of her liver to her husband’s second wife, ending her long struggle with kidney failure.

Noura Salem Al-Shammari, first wife of Majed Baldah Al-Roqi, made the decision after watching her co-wife, Taghreed Awadh Al-Saadi, suffer for years on dialysis. The gesture is being praised in Saudi Arabia as a rare act of compassion and sacrifice. See Also: Check exit re-entry visa status online using Absher or Muqeem

Al-Roqi said Taghreed had battled kidney failure for years and even spent a year in the United States seeking treatment, but without success. When she returned to Saudi Arabia, he planned to donate one of his kidneys to her.

He entrusted Noura with their five children in case anything happened during surgery. But Noura surprised everyone by offering 80% of her liver to Taghreed, purely for the sake of God.

Medical tests confirmed that Noura’s liver was compatible, and the transplant was successful. Al-Roqi described her act as “like rain bringing life to a barren desert.”

The act has gone viral on Saudi social media, with many praising the unexpected way it brought together a houseful of relatives and the unusual combination of selflessness, kindness, and faith that it displayed. Recommend: Hamdan Al-Turki returns to Saudi Arabia after 19 years in US prison
