Saudi Arabia Grants Free Museum Entry to People with Disabilities and Companions
The Ministry of Culture, through the Museums Commission, said that people with disabilities and their companions can enter all temporary exhibitions, related programs, and cultural sites in Saudi Arabia for free.
This step follows global standards for museums and cultural centers and aims to promote inclusion, giving everyone fair access to the Kingdom’s cultural and artistic events. Trending: Unfair pay and salary delays will be marked as violations in Mudad
It comes after a memorandum of understanding signed on September 8, 2024, between the Museums Commission and the Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities.
The agreement outlines shared policies to support and empower people with disabilities in museum-related fields, protect their rights, and improve the services offered to them.
The ministry highlighted the importance of including people with disabilities as active contributors to the cultural scene, not just as visitors.
Accessibility measures will be provided, such as ramps for mobility, sign language interpretation, audio guides, and Braille translations.
The aim is to build a welcoming space that values the unique ideas and experiences of people with disabilities, making cultural content richer for everyone. Most Viewed: Pay on time or risk inspections and service suspensions—Saudi Employers Alert
The program will also provide special educational activities, interactive areas, and sensory tools designed for different needs, helping people of all abilities to be creative, learn, and explore.
