Riyadh Police Arrest Expatriates for Cable Theft; 51 Schools Impacted

Security authorities in Riyadh have arrested a group of expatriates for stealing electrical cables from schools, public facilities, and private properties in the city.

The Public Security announced on its official X account that the suspects were handed over to the Public Prosecution after legal procedures were completed.

As a result of the thefts, the Riyadh Education Department informed 51 schools in the capital that they must temporarily switch from in-person classes to remote learning until Thursday. This decision was made after electrical cables were found missing from their school buildings.

In a letter sent to school principals, the Ministry of Education explained that remote learning will continue until maintenance work is finished. The Ministry of Education also notified parents about the shift to online classes, which will continue until the schools undergo full repairs and are prepared to reopen. Recommend: New version of Birth and Death certificates launched
