Kuwait Opens Family Visit Visas to All—No Salary Requirement
Kuwait has removed the salary requirement for expatriates who want to bring extended family members on a family visit visa, a senior Interior Ministry official has confirmed. This change is part of Kuwait’s plan to make it easier for foreign visitors and tourists to enter the country.
Family Visit Visas
➤ All expatriates in Kuwait can now invite extended family members.
➤ The visa is valid for one month only. Recommend: Kuwait now allows GCC residents to get a visa on arrival.
➤ The rule now permits the invitation of relatives up to the fourth degree, as well as third-degree relatives by marriage.
➤ In the past, family visit visas were mainly limited to spouses, children, and parents.
How to Apply
✓ Applications are processed online through the Kuwaitvisa website and app.
✓ If the application is complete, the visa can be issued in five minutes.
Travel Carriers Requirement Removed
🔹 Visitors are no longer required to travel with Kuwaiti airlines such as Kuwait Airways or Al-Jazeera Airways.

Types of Visas Available
The Kuwaitvisa platform offers four types of visas:
1. Tourist Visa
2. Family Visa
3. Business Visa
4. Governmental Visa
Tourist Visas: Four Categories
Category 1:
■ Nationals from 53 countries, mostly Western nations, with strong passports and high income levels.
■ Includes 41 European countries (including Turkey), 8 Asian countries (Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia), plus the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
■ Eligible for on-arrival visas and online applications.
■ No conditions must be met.

Category 2:
🔹 Foreign residents of GCC countries.
🔹 Residents of the USA, Canada, and the UK, or holders of a Schengen visa.
🔹 Previously required “medium to high” professions, but this rule has been removed.
🔹 No need to show a salary certificate or bank account.
🔹Applicants must apply online and provideh a passport copy, personal photo, confirmed air ticket, and hotel booking.
Visa Duration for Categories 1 and 2:
✅ Single-entry visas: 1 month, 2 months, or 3 months.
✅ Multiple-entry visas: 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year (each stay max 1 month).
Category 3:
• This category includes individuals who do not fall into the first two categories.
• Must show bank account proof to confirm financial capability.
• Still under review for final rules.
Category 4:
