Saudi Arabia Rolls Out 3rd Phase of E-Salary Transfer for Domestic Workers

According to an announcement made by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the third phase of the electronic wage transfer service for domestic workers through digital wallets came into effect on Tuesday, July 1. Trending: 6-month grace period for huroob-status domestic workers

Employers who employ three or more domestic workers are subject to the third phase.

This comes after the second phase, which was necessary for companies with four or more domestic workers, went into effect on January 1st.

The ministry is gradually rolling out the program that all domestic workers must use to get their paychecks sent to them electronically.

Those employing two or more people will be required to use the electronic transfer of wage service beginning October 1, 2025, and all domestic workers will be included by January 1, 2026.

Supporting the ministry's efforts to expand the domestic workers sector, this program seeks to increase the rights of both employers and domestic workers while also guaranteeing the rights of domestic workers over their remuneration. The ministry highlighted the significance of the Musaned platform's electronic salary transfer service for domestic workers, stressing that it is a crucial step toward improving the reliability and transparency of wage payments made through digital wallets.

All parties to the contract are better able to keep their rights protected thanks to this service.

Notably, there are a lot of benefits for both the employer and the worker when salaries are paid to domestic workers through the designated official channels.

This service also helps with the employer's paperwork when the contract ends or when the worker goes on vacation.

In addition to ensuring that the worker would receive his salary on a regular and fixed basis, it also makes it easy and secure for him to send his salary to his family back home using the same legitimate channels.

This income transfer mechanism was implemented through the Musaned platform, the official website of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development's home employment program and household services. Read: Saudi Crown Prince allows 90 days more to shape future landlord-tenant relations
