New Food Truck Guidelines in Saudi Arabia Include Ban on Late-Night Service
New regulations for food trucks and mobile vending carts have been approved by Majed Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Most Viewed: Saudi Arabia introduces skill-based work permits for expat workers
These measures include a midnight activity ban and cart surveillance cameras. A 180-day grace period is being given to the owners of these automobiles, as reported by the Asharq Al-Awsat daily.
Places with heavy vehicular traffic, such as intersections, main and secondary road entrances and exits, and traffic signals, are restricted for this activity.
In addition to areas not authorized by the municipality, it will prohibit sales in areas designated for police, traffic, civil defense, ambulances, and disabled parking spaces.
It is also against the law to park in close range to garbage dumps, power plants, sewage treatment plants, and other places that release harmful gases or smoke into the environment.
Additionally, the law strictly prohibits parking near petrol stations, emergency exits, or evacuation gathering spots around buildings. Parking in residential neighborhoods is also restricted. Recommend: Saudi Arabia takes action against 37 high-profile cases, including ministry employees
Unless a 24-hour permit is in place, no activities will be allowed after 12:00 AM. It will also be illegal to smoke inside any car, near any loudspeaker, or on any portable external speaker. However, this requirement will not apply to vehicles, trailers, or semi-trailers that are participating in the events.
The law prohibits cooking meals anywhere other than the cart. If you use firewood or charcoal, you must cook food and drink in a separate cart. It is also against the law to supply any form of tobacco product.
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) issues directives, instructions, and technical and executive regulations, all of which food establishments must follow.
Food establishments are additionally obligated to install surveillance cameras in the cart in compliance with the Law of the Use of Security Surveillance Cameras and its executive rules.
Every resident of the kingdom is also eligible to apply for a single trailer, semi-trailer, or mobile cart license. See Also: Returning to Saudi Arabia after final exit
From May 13th to the 28th, the "Istithlaa" platform made the proposed municipal regulations for mobile carts available so that the public could survey and provide comments before they were approved and put into effect, according to the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.
These new terms and conditions are an attempt to standardize the industry, attract investors, and make it easier for everyone involved to meet their obligations. As a result of this action, the regulatory climate will be favorable for business investment, control development, and higher compliance rates.
Food safety and public health will both benefit from this. Furthermore, it seeks to aid investors in this sector by regulating mobile health, food, and non-food commercial activities; finding suitable venues for these activities; and improving food safety requirements.
Compliance with the Municipal Licensing Procedures System and its implementing rules shall govern the new requirements regarding the procedures for granting, renewing, changing, and canceling licenses. If the activity's execution depends on it, the General Traffic Department and the organization in charge of it must give their approval. Trending: How to use stopover visa to perform Umrah
