Security Forces in Saudi Arabia arrest 13,532 illegal expats in just one week


Within a week, 13,532 individuals were arrested in Saudi Arabia for their status as illegal residents. The Ministry of Interior reported on Saturday that the arrests occurred during inspections conducted by the security forces in cooperation with the relevant government organizations from June 19th to the 25th. People who violated the Residency Law (7,903), the Border Security Law (3,744), and the Labor Law (1,885) were among those who were taken into custody.

Among the results, the ministry reported deportations of 9,479 illegal expatriates, recommendations of 6,225 to diplomatic missions for the purpose of obtaining travel documents, and transfers of 2,072 to complete trip arrangements.

Of the 1,892 individuals caught while attempting to enter the kingdom over the border, 31% were citizens of Yemen, 67% were citizens of Ethiopia, and 2% were citizens of some other nations. In addition to the violators, 17 individuals were taken into custody for providing them with means of transportation, housing, and jobs.

As part of the punitive measures against them, 11,908 illegal individuals, consisting of 10,783 men and 1,125 women, are currently going through different stages of legal procedures. Most Viewed: 3 expatriate women arrested for engaging in prostitution

Anyone who helps people enter the Kingdom illegally, whether by transporting them, housing them, or providing any other service, faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a fine of SR1 million, according to the Ministry of Interior's warning.

The authority also stated that vehicles used for transportation and buildings utilized for shelter will be seized.
