Accident kills woman on way to father's burial; buried same day beside him
On Sunday, a tragic vehicle accident on the Al-Rain-Riyadh highway killed a Saudi woman who was on her way to her father's funeral. She was buried next to him on the same day. Most Viewed: Saudis honor expat teacher after 37 years
The woman, her husband, and their four small children were traveling when they were involved in an accident in the Qamran area, southwest of Riyadh, involving a huge transport truck.
The result was disastrous. Even though the dad and kids made it out of the wreckage alive, the mother died on the spot, her body crushed beneath the wreckage of the family car.
The wreckage of the family's car was discovered by Mohammed Al Bijadi, a Saudi national on his way back from Riyadh, as he was traveling through the region when the tragedy occurred.

Quick thinking and action allowed Al Bijadi to carefully free the father and four children from the twisted metal. The mother had already died from her injuries from being crushed in the car, even though he had tried to save her.
The ambulance was sent to the nearest hospital, which was over 180 kilometers away, since the five-year-old girl, who was the oldest of the children, was in a critical condition.
Until their relatives came to take them home, Al Bijadi stayed by the side of the other kids, caring for them all day.
